Anjali Mehra is a choreographer and dancer.
While studying at Central School of Ballet, Anjali won the prestigious ‘Christopher Gable Choreographer Award’. Following graduation she debuted in the West End as a performer in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Bombay Dreams.
In 2012, Anjali reprised her role of Glenda for Matthew Bourne’s Play without Words at Sadlers Wells and on tour, and in 2014, she danced as Girlfriend/Queen in Bourne’s international tour of Swan Lake .
Whist she has continued with her performance career, Anjali has carved out a career as a choreographer. She revived the choreography for Richard Jones’s Macbeth (Verdi) at Opera De Lille; and recreated the choreography for Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck) at Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich, and at the Welsh National Opera.
Anjali choreographed Jakob Lenz (Rihm), with Director Sam Brown, for English National Opera at Hampstead Theatre; L’Orfeo (Monteverdi), for Silent Opera at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, Director Daisy Evans; I Puritani at Grange Park Opera, Director Stephen Langridge.
Latest work includes, choreography for Richard Jones’s La Fanciulla Del West at The Santa Fe Opera; Oreste Royal Opera House at Wilton’s Music Hall.
