Berlin-based Australian conductor Rebecca Lang is quickly becoming one of the most exciting cross-over artists of her generation. Ms Lang has worked extensively as Musical Director, Pianist and Vocal Coach in both Australia and Germany. In 2015, she became Musical Director of Stage Entertainment's ICH WAR NOCH NIEMALS IN NEW YORK at Theater des Westens in Berlin.

A former piano student of Mack Jost AM, Caroline Almonte and Dr. Elyane Laussade, she holds a Bachelor of Music Performance (Piano) from the Victorian College of the Arts, a Licentiate in Music (Piano) from the Australian Music Examinations Board, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (Dean's Honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Masters in Orchestral Conducting from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.

In 2005, Ms Lang was awarded a Goethe-Institut Scholarship which enabled her to take part in German Language courses in Dresden and Berlin. Since relocating to Germany in 2006, she has continued to work across varied genres including both Opera and Music Theatre, and is a highly sought after collaborative pianist.

While completing her Conducting Studies under Professor Christof Perick (former General Music Director, Staatstheater Nürnberg), Ms Lang simultaneously held the position of Music Director at SeeLive Tivoli (Hamburg School of Entertainment), 2007 - 2011.

She has also worked under and assisted such noted conductors as Simone Young, Mihkel Kütson and Simon Gaudenz.

Career highlights have included new productions of Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne and Igor Stravinsky’s L’oiseau de feu with the Hamburger Symphoniker.

From August 2011 until November 2012, Ms Lang held the position of Conductor and Coach at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater Flensburg, where she conducted several performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita and Lerner & Loewe's timeless masterpiece My Fair Lady.

In November 2012 she accepted the position of Acting Music Director and Conductor at Stage Entertainment's Theater am Potsdamer Platz Berlin, where she conducted Udo Lindenberg’s long running hit musical Hinterm Horizont.

In February 2014 Ms Lang was invited to Melbourne to musically direct the City of Stonnington's Opera In The Park where, in front of an audience of 6000, she conducted her own arrangement for chamber orchestra of Giuseppe Verdi’s Il trovatore starring Michael Lewis OAM and Liane Keegan.

In September 2014 Ms Lang was appointed Head of Music and Conductor at Theater Hof GmbH in Bavaria, where she conducted Jacques Offenbach's La vie parisienne and Richard O'Brien's Cult-Musical The Rocky Horror Show.

Since August 2015, Ms Lang has held the position of Musical Director of ICH WAR NOCH NIEMALS IN NEW YORK for Stage Entertainment Germany.
